what should we have on a resume?
Meagan McLaughlin
19:34
Your major, any minors you have, relevant work, volunteer experiences, RSO memberships, any jobs or internships!
Sophia Contratto
19:50
thank you :)
Emma Chapman
20:17
Also if you have any special skills that might be relevant to the project, like speaking Spanish or knowing some coding language
Ashley Stewart
20:58
How do we make our resume stand out when we have no relevant work or experience? Working at Subway wont help me in biology. lol

Sophia Contratto
21:38
that’s my question too
Kevin Fay

Emma Chapman
22:17
It is all about picking out the skills you learned and spinning it. The URAs can help you with that! I’ll go over how we can help during my portion of the presentation
Meagan McLaughlin
22:27
Any experience can be relevant if you know how to tailor it to what you are applying for. Working for a restaurant maybe taught you time management skills, responsibility, etc.
Ashley Stewart
26:14
I thought UROP was only available to Freshmen or Sophmores.
Sophia Contratto
26:45
i thought so too
Emma Chapman
26:51
That is correct
Meagan McLaughlin
27:06
Yes, UROP is only open for freshmen, sophomores, and transfer students
Ashley Stewart
27:43
Oh. Im a transfer student as a junior, but I transferred here in Spring. So Ive almost been here a full year. Does that disqualify me?
Sierra Williams
27:49
when is the deadline to apply to UROP?
Kevin Fay
28:04
how can I apply to UROP
Meagan McLaughlin
28:15
The deadline to apply for UROP is the beginning of May, usually May 1st
Meagan McLaughlin
28:25
Applications for UROP open in April
